This is my son's favorite book so I read it to. It is well written and fast moving. The story is great and inadvertently got my son interested in learning more about the time periods in history that were featured. A win!
My 10-year-old son's review "I liked this book. It was very exciting and historical because the events in the book are based on actual history. The one thing I did not like was the way it ended--I will not spoil it though. Overall, I thought this book was great!"

I saw one of my students reading the book, so I read it. It was a lot of fun. The reader travels to different periods in history and meets historical figures. You learn something about cats (though I disagree about letting cats run around outdoors) and you learn to appreciate them. I bought a copy for my classroom library.
My daughter loves this book and it was in perfect condition upon arrival
Very engaging story. I read it to my younger kids and the older ones read it for themselves. This is our second copy for our family of 6. (The first is now a well-worn paperback.) Our son's name is Gareth (very unusual in the US) and he especially enjoyed hearing/seeing his name. ;)
Loved this as a kid and purchased it to read to a 5th grade class. It absolutely holds up for modern audiences. I polled the kids when we were finished with it to see when they thought the book had been written. All of them thought it was 21st century. I then told them that it was not only older than me, but also their teacher. It's a great book for that age group.
