The story and characters were interesting. The conflict was a bit set up, but fits the romance formula.I enjoyed it and would get the next in the series --- though this clearly was a stand alone, I liked the other characters enough to want to see their stories as well.

Tempted By His Kiss Byrons of Braebourne Book 1 edition by Tracy Anne Warren Romance eBooks Reviews
I loved it! Tracy Anne Warren is a very good author. This book made it really hard to put down once I got started.
This is one of my favorites of the Byron books. The hero is perfectly scarred and the heroine is practical and genuine. This is an excellent read.
I loved this story best out of the series. it's characters come alive and it has some twists that made it for a thoroughly great read.
I was so excited to get several HR new releases at once only to be really disappointed when I began reading them. I couldn't even get through them..I will eventually but I was craving a good book. I was so happy when I picked up this book and discovered I was unable to put it down. The hero and heroine truly needed one another and watching them love one another was so enjoyable. Fate brings the injured and physically and emotionally battered hero together with the lonely heroine. The hero believes he is incapable of loving another because of his history and the heroine realizes his heart is unavailable. And yet, the two cannot stay away from one another. The story is strong from the beginning on. The end was a little bit typical in it's climax, but still very enjoyable overall, and a recommended read. I can't wait to read the rest in this series!!!!
This wasn't a bad book, but I wasn't really wowed by it either. My favorite part of the book was in the beginning before they hatched that stupid plot. The friendship and connection felt way more genuine than later in the book. Perhaps that was because there was no focus beyond them interacting together.
I liked Meg in the beginning, although I was taken aback by her out of place mothering over a relative stranger. I just found it odd that she would have the gall to bring up her host's drinking and eating habits when he didn't even invite her to his home. Other than that she felt earnest and helpful and it was easy to like her.
That all changed the further into the book I got. Apparently Meg decided the book needed a village idiot and decided to elect herself. I just cannot believe how many times Meg decided that something couldn't be accomplished without her help and jumped in only to foul it up. It got repetitive and boring and I missed the early Meg.
Cade had a serious past tragedy that I was surprised to see. Usually the author will assign a hero or heroine a tragic past with no real tragedy occurring. It just makes the person seem silly and dramatic instead of tortured and sympathetic. Here the tragedy was actually tragic.
The issues in this book were dealt with using a light hand. No real concern was evinced over the fact that Cade and Meg had a relationship even though they weren't going to be married. Shouldn't that not have been treated as lightly as it was? I don't know, it just seemed like a big deal to me.
Despite my complaints I still found the book pleasant and engaging. It had a very readable style that made the pages turn quickly. I've heard good things about the later books in this series so I still plan to read on. Here's hoping that I'll like those ones a bit better.
Another wonderful Regency romance from Tracy Anne Warren. The hero wounded in the war goes and lives in seclusion after a bad decision cost the life of the woman he loved. When he's forced by a snowstorm to have a young lady stay with him, he must face his past and perhaps even tempt his heart again. A perfect read for a snowy day.
In her new AVON release "TEMPTED BY HIS KISS" New York Times Bestselling author, Tracy Anne Warren has a few storms brewing to set her characters in motion.
We first meet Lord Cade Byron of the Byrons of Bayborn--no affiliation to the master poet Lord Byron-- drinking away his demons on his country estate in Northumberland, England, willing away the nightmare of the wounds which he suffered at the hands of a master spy. All Lord Cade wants is to be left alone and so far no one has dared to bother the "Mad Lord" except for his incessant family, who are constantly trying to get him back into the world of the living. But all Cade wants to do is live out his misery and guilt alone. Why can't any one understand that?
Especially, the young head strong beauty, whom has just walked into his home asking for a respite from the storm for her self and her "cousin".
Miss Margaret (Meg) Amberly has lost everything. Her mother and baby brother died in childbirth four years ago and just five months ago her father passed away leaving her orphaned and on her way to Scotland to live with an aging aunt that she has never met. Her maid and her self struck out hoping to by pass the storm but nearly taking a header has her asking for refuge from the great burly lord of the manor.
After what he experienced fighting the war in Portugal all Cade wants is his solitary existence. He has barricaded his heart from ever loving again after having been made to witness the brutality of his late fiancés demise. It's only been five months since her death, but why is he starting to feel something for his unexpected house guest. After being forced together for a fortnight, fate intervenes and Cade offers Meg a fake engagement. Intending to bring Meg to London Cade sets plans into motion for Meg's Season and finding her a suitable husband.
But his plans go a muck when Cade discovers that the one thing he needs in his life more desperately than holding on to his demons and guilt is Meg--his Meg.
TEMPTED BY HIS KISS was an incredible read. I've read Ms Warren's "The Mistress Trilogy" and have been a fan ever since.
I have to say that Ms. Warren did a great job with an old premise. The fact that she weaves a warm and inviting story around and old prose just shows you what a talented writer she is. There were times I wanted to kick Lord Cade Byron in the pants. Or shake Meg Amberly and say "Wake up girl", but I believe that was all part and parcel of what Ms. Warren might have intended for her readers.
Happy Reading!
